Best New Club Tracks to Dance to at Home
Experts say you should stay active and keep some semblance of normalcy during the quarantine. And what’s more normal than to put on earphones and dance quietly in your room, unbeknownst to your roommates. Seriously though, dancing is a good way to get those feel-good juices going in your brain, so before you decide to end your life by shaking a stranger’s hand, kick off your shoes to the sound of these dance tracks I’ve carefully selected.
DJ Houseplants - Just Don’t Know
DJ Houseplants is a Seattle producer, as well as a self-described “aspiring botanist”. His little future funk gem Just Don’t Know makes me want to cultivate one plant in particular… (Wait, weed counts as a plant, right? Right.)
Jude Brown - On the Real
All the way from Cape Town, Jude Brown brings hip hop flair to his old school house jams. On the Real is fresh of the press, and boy does it make me want to get jiggy with it.
HeartWerk - Distant
For all your social distancing needs, friend of the blog HeartWerk has you covered. His new ambient house track Distant should be the perfect soundtrack for your next paranoid visit at your local Costco.
dpcld - Rassvet
A fortified acid house jam taken from the Russian producer’s newly-released album TAPES FROM THE BED. If that’s what the guy can do in his bed, just imagine what he can do from other rooms in the house.
DJ Maybe - El Mundo Silicona
All the way from Colombia, DJ Maybe just released a pair of really cool tracks on TraxxGender’s new release Maggi EP. Listen to it, because what else do you have going on at the moment? Oh, nothing? That’s what I thought.
Sanso - Manfred
Sanso’s album Xxxpress LP was released last summer, so I don’t know if we can call it new. What’s the statute of limitations on that term? It’s certainly new-er than some other releases. If anything, this blend of minimal garage and lo-fi house will remind you of the simpler days of 2019, so what the hell… The track stays in this list.
Holloway - Tun Up f. Logan
A UK garage track with a ton of moody bass. Tun Up will make you want to put some pants on, just so you have something to rip off in a fit of joy.
Thiago Ostoik - Hasta Que Baile El Sol
A bouncy jam from Uruguay. This feels as good as going to the store and finding out they’ve just received a new shipment of Purell.
Phil Anker - Love Train
Hopping on the “love train” is the reason why most people got sick in the first place, am I right? Folks… But seriously, Phil Anker’s new album is a banger, full of cool retro-futuristic synth and saturated bass.
