1. BREAK IT DOWN (ON THE BASSLINE) | Confidence Man, IN2STELLAR

Confidence Man are having one hell of a summer. The group has had everyone who’s anyone collaborate with them in some form or another. But I don’t think I could be happier with their new recruit, as this time the group chose to team up with IN2STELLAR, one of my favorite duos of late.

BREAK IT DOWN (ON THE BASSLINE) is a high-energy track that’s already making waves on dance floors everywhere. With its infectious rhythm, catchy vocals, and deep trance-y bassline, this track is designed to keep your toes tappin’ until the next festival season.

Confidence Man’s signature blend of cheeky lyrics and upbeat grooves pairs perfectly with IN2STELLAR’s punchy production, making this a must-have in any DJ’s USB stick.

3. What Club They Hang At | Bad Tofu

What Club They Hang At by Canadian newcomer Bad Tofu is a high-energy track that captures the essence of early '90s rave culture. The song is characterized by its infectious percussion groove and a pulsing bassline that drives the rhythm forward. Bad Tofu blends elements of house, techno, and jungle, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The track’s relentless pace and uplifting vibes make it a perfect anthem for late-night dance floors, where the energy never seems to wane.

What Club They Hang At transports the listener to a different time and place. Are we in a field somewhere in the suburbs of LDN circa 1992? Are we in a poorly ventilated basement in Montreal? Who knows! Whether you're a fan of classic rave music or just discovering the genre, you could do far worse than giving Bad Tofu a listen.

4. early days | wes mills

early days by wes mills is a masterclass in subtlety. It captures the essence of laid-back house with its smooth bassline, minimalistic UK house beat, and warm, atmospheric vocal chops.

It’s the perfect track to set the tone for a chilled-out set or to bring a sense of calm to a high-energy dance floor. early days is all about creating a vibe that’s both introspective and inviting. I could see this as the first cool track of the night to show you mean business. It could also be the blissed-out closer at the end of a set.

In fact, you can play it anywhere. Hell, you might even want to do a set where you put that track on repeat on Spotify for 2 hours. That’d be something, right?

DJ Planet Express delivers a nostalgic nod to the golden era of dance music with H! NRG. This track is a throwback to the high-energy disco and house sounds of the 90s, reimagined with a modern twist. As always, DJ Planet Express dances right on the line of irony and pure talent with this one.

Its driving beat, infectious melody, and euphoric energy make H! NRG a standout track that’s perfect for any DJ looking to inject some retro flair into their set. I could see this one on a lofi mixtape or in a laid-back part of a trance set.

With its deep bass, distorted synths, and eerie vocal samples, this remix adds a gritty edge to the original, making it a go-to track for late-night sets that demand something a little darker.

I’m not sure if I want to do the running man or twerk. When in doubt, just do both.
