Bakey To Go Even Further With 'Bring It Back EP'

If you’ve been kicking around the ol’ UKG Spotify playlists the way I have, you’ve probably stumbled upon Bakey’s music. The London producer has produced some of the most angular and exciting tracks in the medium, including the 3 groovy barn-burners from his 2020 EP, Take It Further. An album that - if you were wondering - did, in fact, take things further.

Well on his way to becoming your mom’s favorite underground UKG DJ (I mean, maybe you have a cool mom, idk), Bakey will return next month with Bring It Back EP, a 5-track album that promises to err… take things back? Probably a nod to the fact that Bakey finds a lot of his inspiration in the grime and garage of yore, repurposing cadences from the past and filtering them through the kaleidoscope of his modern sensibility.

Last week, Shall Not Fade released a track-by-track teaser for Bring It Back. Judging by it, I’m guessing this release will be a huge step forward for the talented young artist.

I’m especially excited for No Name Groove, a minimal 2-step number featuring soulful vocals by Kaisa. Slay also appears on the album on the aptly titled Vibing Season.

Bring It Back EP is coming out on August 6th via SNF. If you pre-order it, you’ll receive the title track right now, that way you can add it to your Twitch mix, or whatever you kids are doing these days.
