Dance Tracks You Should Add to Your Set A.S.A.P.
There are many great tracks being released to streaming platforms every week. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to browse through them all and find the real gems. Whether you’re an experienced house DJ, or just a playlist enthusiast, here are some of my favorites of late. Please hit us up if you know some tracks I might like (bonus points if it’s music you’ve produced yourself). For more awesome dance tracks, check out our Spotify playlist.
Absurde - Ogni Pensiero Vola
Taken from the DJ’s new EP Folding The Dishes, this track is a perfect encapsulation of Montreal’s idiosyncratic underground techno scene. I’m calling it: Absurde is the Canadian answer to Buttechno.
Montel - Let’s Give it A Try
The Belfast DJ has made quite a name for himself in recent years. In terms of party anthem, this one is a no-brainer.
starlight - Untitled A
I like how the pitched up vocals give a bit of R&B swagger to this lo-fi house beat. Taken from the genre-bending album Mixtape Purple, released by the indian label Magic Frequencies.
SCORPIO - North Star
A grimy disco house jam taken from SCORPIO’s album Impulse. I couldn’t find much info about the guy, but this release is pretty dope.
Camomile Dawn - Westover Road
You turn to Camomile Dawn for sick house grooves, but what do you know… You get some pretty decent dating advice in the process. I’m of course talking about the Dawson’s Creek excerpt that punctuates this vaporous single from the Istanbul DJ.
Painterly - Just Another Yup
Some sunny grooves straight from East L.A. Need I say more?
Fernanda Arrau - Maleza
How can a track rock so hard, and yet not take itself seriously at all? A Spanish retro-futuristic disco gem that should light a fire on the dancefloor.
The Mechanical Man - Bannerman
A DJ from Napoli releasing an EP on the Ontario label YUNG DUMB… If this isn’t the Internet bringing people together, I don’t know what is. The Mechanical Man makes garage house that sounds delightfully retro. Check him out.
