Monte Booker Reaches for the Stars with ‘interstellar house mix’
Inspired by the likes of Flying Lotus and Timbaland, Monte Booker has developed a style of his own. Blending hip hop, chillstep and future house sensibilities, his music displays the kind of rhythms that don’t need the help of a rapper to stay engaging.
Monte Booker is part of Chicago’s Zero Fatigue collective, along luminaries such as Smino and Ravyn Lenae. He is also a frequent collaborator of the Soulection crew.
Booker is slated to appear on the album Revenge of the Dreamers III, a compilation commissioned by J. Coles’s label Dreamville. Meanwhile, the producer as released an amazing lo-fi fantasy titled interstellar house mix, an extend reworking of his stellar (pun intended) collaboration with Bari.
While the version with vocals is awesome, this instrumental is a groovy and layered beat that should be a staple of mixes in the upcoming year. Listen to it below, or download it via Monte’s Bandcamp.
