Can you tell us where you are in the world? What does your daily life look like over there?

I reckon I'm on Mars. The weather sucks, but it’s nice and quiet.

You’re promoting your new album Synaptic Juice. What does it represent for you at this point in your life?

Synaptic Juice represents a huge milestone for me, as it’s my first full album of original productions. This has been my life’s work for the last 2 years and it’s been quite the journey.

I wanted to embark on a journey showcasing my love of the Italo sound and this was the end result. Synths galore and whacky themes, this album has it all.

When you work on new music, do you have a ritual or a routine?

It all starts with inspiration, usually from a sci-fi or horror movie and then somehow this transforms into a finished track.

I also draw from the things that I love and try to incorporate elements from them into the music I create.

Can you show us your studio?

My beloved Starship Enterprise studio. It’s no secret my crazy obsession with sci-fi and all things Star Trek. This is the place where the magic happens. My desk is actually taken from a model from Next Gen with a few customizations to fit all my kit.

This is literally my Bitch Cave.

Better look in my video here:

Before you made music, what was a formative experience that shaped you as the artist you are today?

I’ve always loved music and art. I knew it was my calling and I had to go with it.

Are there things you wish you had known when you started?

Don’t trust every character that you meet in this business.

What’s the most unusual object or gadget you keep in the studio?

My Star Trek record signed by the one and only, Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner. I also have a signed picture of Leonard Nimoy from the 70s which is my other holy grail item.

What’s the most unusual sound you’ve ever incorporated into one of your productions?

I’ve used the torpedoes from Star Trek TOS. How’s that for nerdy?

What would be your desert island plugins?

Arturia VSTs are fabulous. They are my go to.

I also love my Soundtoys bundle

What are your favorite hardware tools?

I love my Roland System 8 synth. I also love a good 303 and I am itching to buy a Hydrasynth. They are beyond stunning.

What’s the holy grail of hardware for you?

I really want a Hydra and an original Roland juno 106. They are both stunning bits of kit that create the sounds I love.

What was the last track by another artist you were obsessed with?

My current obsession is Funk Infusion by Daniele Baldelli & Dj Rocca.

The wonky synth line is to die for. I played this at Suncebeat in Lisbon, Portugal to a packed floor. It worked a treat.

What meme makes you laugh the most?

Oh that’s a tough one, but I am crazy about the Scottish Banter page on Instagram. It absolutely kills me at times!!!
